Assuming you are using XP, rolling back the driver does not work. You need to go to Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tool/System Restore and return your system to its last good stored config. "John Peterson" <jo...@azstarnet.com> wrote in message news:u4v3fuhfdmj9c7@corp.supernews.com.

Windows XP is the latest Operating System available from Microsoft. In order to "return" to Win 98, you are going to have to reformat your Hard Drive and then install Win 98 from a Win 98 CD. Windows XP has no built-in "roll-back" feature to Win 98. It would be like rolling back a Lexus LS 430 to a Chevy Cavalier.

I'm surprised the "roll back" option didn't work. I've used it dozens of times on different systems and never had it not work. The "Roll back driver" option in XP depends on a subset of System Restore code. When you upgrade a driver through Device Manager, XP creates a Restore Point in which it stores information
